Our Sheboygan hospital-based behavioral health center is a satellite program of the Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan County. In addition to serving Sheboygan County, we work with adults and adolescents throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Our 26th Street location offers group-based programs to address behavioral health and substance use disorders, with options for partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming for both adults and adolescents age 12 to 18 years old.
Partial hospitalization program
The partial hospitalization program at the Aurora Behavioral Health Center offers a unique approach to behavioral health care in the Sheboygan area. This program provides intensive, highly structured psychiatric care for adults and adolescents in an outpatient setting.
When you begin the partial hospitalization program, you’ll take part in intensive, group-based psychotherapy from Monday through Friday. By attending 5 different group therapy sessions throughout the day, you’ll learn strategies and skills to help you address issues associated with depression, anxiety, trauma and other mental health disorders.
A multidisciplinary team of counselors, clinical social workers, nurses, psychiatrists and occupational therapists teaches Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help you overcome distress and find purpose in your life.
Whether you’re transitioning from inpatient care or wish to prevent the need for inpatient care, the partial hospitalization program offers the treatment you need with the flexibility to return home each evening after therapy. To find out more about the partial hospitalization program, call 920-838-3650 for adult services and 920-828-3675 for adolescent services.
Intensive outpatient program
The intensive outpatient program is designed for those who need more support than is typically available in traditional weekly or monthly outpatient therapy.
Instead of meeting with a therapist once a week or once a month, you’ll attend 3-hour group therapy sessions 4 times per week for adults and 5 times per week for adolescents. During these sessions, you’ll learn powerful, practical ways to manage symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.
Our research-supported treatment models will teach you new ways to respond to life stressors like job loss, school, relationship problems and health issues. You’ll be empowered to become more independent, set and achieve goals, and apply the techniques you learn in group therapy to make positive changes in your life.
To find out more about the intensive outpatient program, call 920-838-3650 for adult services and 920-828-3675 for adolescent services.
